We have word today that Timothy Olyphant has joined the cast of The Crazies remake. We get the following details from the gorguts caves of Yahoo:
Timothy Olyphant has signed on to star in “The Crazies,” a remake of the George Romero horror movie.
The Overture Films project revolves around the inhabitants of a small Kansas town who are beset by death and insanity after a plane crash lets loose a secret biological weapon into the water supply. Olyphant is playing the town’s sheriff.
I wasn’t that fond of Olyphant in Hitman. The movie may not be an adequate showcase of his skills however; it was horrible.
As much as I hate remakes, George Romero himself is involved with this one. I’m not saying that his involvement will necessarily make it a better film, but speculating that he may craft this film the way he “always wanted it to be done” is a romantic notion.
If the original visionary of a project is part of the remake - it’s a lot easier for me to swallow. Is this true of you folks as well or do you just want everyone to leave these zombies lie.
